Today, 37-year-old Clovis, with a background in business and experience running his own real estate and hotel company, has become the General Manager, while Vitalie, 36, with an art and wine marketing background, is Marketing and Communications Director and Global Ambassador, focused on the creative aspects of Champagne Taittinger, such as the updated, new colorful packaging on its recent releases and being the face for Champagne Taittinger's advertisements. The 2006 Comtes de Champagne wines, in this light, rep- resents more than being an excellent vintage—a hot summer with a healthy crop—it is also a symbol of the contemporary face of Champagne Taittinger, one that is forward-looking while also focused on the continuity of tradition. These traditions include creating Comtes de Champagne only from the very best vintages and from the best grand crus grapes, resulting in a unique, rare wine considered not only the jewel of Champagne Taittinger but also the most iconic Blanc de Blancs in the world. Last month, retailers and restaurateurs around the country received the 2006 Comtes de Champagne wines, which include a Blanc de Blancs of 100% Chardonnay and a Rosé made of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. At Heritage Fine Wines in Beverly Hills, proprietor Jordane Andrieu emphasizes the importance of family involvement in day-to-day operations at Champagne Taittinger, regardless of its size. "I don't consider it a corporate brand, even if it's one of the most well-known Champagne brands in the world," says Andrieu, who is originally from Paris and owns a winery At Heritage Fine Wines in Beverly Hills, CA, Taittinger Comtes de Champagne bottles from various vintages hang in the air, reflective of the store's premium clientele's tastes.
