july 2015 / the tasting panel / 73 that was the dream of Glenfiddich National Brand Ambassador Mitch Bechard, a Scottish-born barman with a jones to jolt the average Scotch drinker (and pourer) out of his or her comfort zone and into an entirely ethereal plane of spirit appreciation. Bechard succeeded in this last year by ushering in Kindred Spirit, the national bartender challenge he created in conjunction with THE TASTING PANEL; now, we're going for round two. "I wanted to make a new kind of cocktail com- petition," explains Bechard of the concept's roots. "Something truly encompassing that has everything to do with the taste of Glenfiddich and how it comes through." And so, with that dream of dram delicious- ness, the Serve was born.
