RESOURCES Teacher Opportunities aSME: diScovErE Educator rEcoGnition aWard The American Society of Mechanical Engineers DiscoverE Educator Recognition Award program focuses on the "unsung he- roes" behind many exceptional engineers – the teachers. The program offers engineers and engineering students the opportunity to recog- nize teachers who are helping their students excel in STEM subjects. Winners will receive $2,000, a digital projector from 3M, and a trip to Washington, D.C. during Engineers Week (Feb.19-25, 2012) to receive their awards and tell their stories to an audience of thought leaders at the 2012 EWeek DiscoverE Summit. Full-time U.S. or international school-based educators teaching in grades 6-12 nominated by an engineer or engineering student (col- lege or graduate level) are eligible for this award. Keeping kids safe while they are online is a priority for every NEA member. To help them do this better, NEA Health Information Network has created a web- site with tools and resources to promote safe and smart Internet behaviors at bNetSavvvy.org. The goal of the program is to help tweens, parents, guardians, educators, and other adults better understand the risks and benefits as- sociated with Internet use. bNetSavvvy.org is a trusted one-stop shop for information, tools, and links to high-quality resources that can help young teens stay safe online! bNetS@vvy offers useful tools exploring the issues that confront families and educa- tors. Sign up for bi-monthly e-newsletters and stay abreast of the latest Internet safety topics. 2012 arizona EGuMPP GraMMar BoWl This statewide academic competition focuses on grammar concepts and terminology. The EGUMPP Grammar Module is a web-based grammar teaching tool. The Grammar Bowl is open to district, charter, private, parochial, and home-schooled students enrolled in the 8th and 9th grade. Mohling Outstanding Aerospace Educator Award recognizes excellence in the field of aerospace education. The recipi- ent of the award will be honored during the Awards Banquet and the Aerospace Educators Luncheon at the NSTA Conference and receive $3,000, as well as $2,000 in expenses to attend NSTA's national conference.
