What Post readers are experiencing Right 20th Century Foxredesigns ADR stage OS ANGELES — Working from a wish list, a team of pros at 20th Century Fox Post (www.foxstudios.com/post_production_services.htm) redesigned the Marge Simpson ADR stage on Pico and Motor.Top on that list was "fast, user friendly operation, with Gebauer, along with ADR engineer Derek Casari, and Jeff Production Minnich, Denis St. Amand, Mike Gatzka, Anthony Lehman, Brian Bair and Henry Tran, designed and built an ADR moni- toring panel, Sampler and Soundmaster ADR control system with a custom programmed VIRPAD user interface. "The 20th Century Fox ADR panel exhibits unparalleled audio quality with ultra-low distortion, -92dB noise floor, +27 dB headroom,Ahead/In/Past programming and (5) - 5.1 stem mixing inputs," describes Gebauer."Each 5.1 input has a large Master Fader, which facilitates on the fly stem mixing (dia- logue, music and effects with ADR and production audio).The console is a Solid State Logic 24-input Duality SE console, with inline micpre, dynamics, compression and EQ designed with SSL's Super Analogue technology.The SSL con- sole also provides a HUI interface to the Pro Tools system al- lowing direct mixing control of the Pro Tools tracks." Not only was the entire Control Room overhauled, but the stage also received some extensive acoustic and cos- metic upgrades as well.A few of the upgrades include a new JBL monitor Fox's ADR team with the new console on the Marge Simpson stage.
