people MORGAN SIEGEL Video and film integration firm Advanced Sys- tems Group in Emeryville, CA, has added Morgan Siegel to its sales team. She will focus on providing software solutions for ASG clients, specifically Autodesk 3D content creation and cre- ative finishing products. SIEGEL SCOTT GEMMELL LA-based hybrid production company Mother- ship has named Scott Gemmell head of pro- duction. He brings a varied background in live ac- tion, motion graphics, animation, VFX, online media, and creative branding, and in his new role will oversee day-to-day production of commercial projects. Gemmell was formerly head of produc- tion at Motion Theory. He has spent over 12 years in commercial production,working on projects for AT&T,Audi, Budweiser, EA Sports, Guinness, HP, Lexus, Nike and Sony. GEMMELL JIM RICHE Santa Monica's Ntropic has added executive producer Jim Riche to its team. He comes to the studio from Digital Domain's commercial divi- sion. After beginning his career as a DP, Riche moved into motion control, then producing and directing. He was one of the first Quantel Harry operators in the US, and managed staffs of up to 200 people for the production of PeeWee's Play- house. In addition to Digital Domain, Riche has held positions with Troika Design Group, Broad- cast Arts and Nice Shoes/Guava in New York. PICHEL VI NGUYEN, FRANK PICHEL Thornberg & Forester in NYC has hired Vi Nguyen as head of 3D/ VFX supervisor, a new position within the company.He has worked at stu- dio such as Visual Propaganda and Motion Theory. Between 2004 and 2006, Nguyen led Motion The- ory's VFX department, working on projects for Budweiser, Cadillac, EA Sports, Gatorade, HP, Lenovo and McDonald's. He moved to New York four years ago, collaborating with studios such as Buck,The Mill, Eyeball NYC, and Thornberg. The studio has also hired Frank Pichel as creative director. Most recently, he was part of the Brooklyn-based art and design studio Flightphase. SAM SHEPPARD SGO UK has named Sam Sheppard product application specialist. He will work closely with SGO's development team, presenting Mistika workflow technologies, with an emphasis on DI, 2D and stereo 3D. Sheppard joins SGO from Quantel, where he was senior post production ap- plication specialist. He has also worked at Park Road Post in New Zealand. SHEPPARD ANDY TENNANT Director/screenwriter Andy Tennant has signed with commercial production house Grand Large for exclusive commercial representation. He has directed hits such films as Hitch and Sweet Home Alabama, as well as Fools Rush In,The Bounty Hunter and Fool's Gold. His commercial work in- cludes campaigns for McDonald's and Quaker Oats.Tennant is based in LA. TENNANT CHRIS EGAN Storage provider Glyph in Cortland, NY, has hired Chris Egan as VP of sales. He will be re- sponsible for all sales efforts, and will manage and expand Glyph's reseller and distribution channels. Egan has 15 years of sales and dealer channel management experience. His career includes time with AMP,Avid and SGI. CHRIS KISER, JON O'HARA Click 3X in NYC has promoted head of produc- tion Chris Kiser to executive producer. Since joining Click 3X, Kiser has produced campaigns for Advil,Web-based projects for LG and Buick, Ri- hanna's Rude Boy music video, Geico campaigns, and stop motion projects.He produced VFX for the up- coming season of HBO's Bored to Death. Click has also hired senior VFX producer Jon KISER O'Hara, who has worked with brands such as Six Flags, Nickelodeon, Febreze and P&G. CONNAN MCSTAY LipSync Post in London has hired Connan McStay as senior editor/compositor. He joins the studio from Molinare, where he spent the past six years. McStay brings over 18 years of experi- ence in editing, compositing, grading, online and of- fline editing, and VFX supervision for film and TV.
