Forbidden will close its Burbank, CA, office and instead support clients either from the UK or via its local partners and resellers. Jason Cowan, Forbidden's commercial manager for Forscene, will now oversee customer relationships in North America. "Although Forbidden itself has a smaller physical sales presence in North America, we are impressed with the enthusiasm in this region for our well- liked cloud service," explains CEO, Stephen Streater. "Our development program has a global remit, and this includes many features requested specifically from this region. This business decision will ensure Forbidden's continued vitality and ability to innovate in the North American market." Forbidden will continue to develop local, market-specific features that are important in US workflows, such as closed captioning, multicam editing, and improvements to the editor interface for drop-frame support. DOUG CARNELL NAMED COO OF FULL COMPASS MADISON, WI — Full Compass Systems (www.fullcom pass.com), a Madison, WI-based reseller of profes- sional audio, video, lighting and musical instrument gear, has added Doug Carnell to its executive staff. Joining the company as COO, a newly-created posi- tion, Carnell will oversee daily operations and identify development opportunities for all Full Compass busi- ness channels. Carnell has 28 years of experience in the AV/inte- gration business and has managed multi-million dollar businesses. His most recent position was executive vice president of operations at AVI-SPL, a position he held for the past 11 years. "As our business continues to evolve and grow, we benefit greatly by adding Doug's experience and knowledge to our already top-notch staff," says company president Mark Nash. "We look forward to a spectacular future." PROMAX CHANNEL GROWS WITH CACHE-A ACQUISITION & NEW PRODUCTS SANTA ANA, CA — Promax's (www.promax.com) domestic and international channels continue to expand by on-board- ing Cache-A resellers since the company acquired Cache-A Corporation last summer. At the 2015 BVE show in London later this month, Promax will be making product announce- ments regarding the first new archival products developed since that acquisition, which will be available through Pro- max's global channel partners. "As soon as Cache-A became a Promax product line, we immediately took action to address the most urgent needs of Cache-A customers," notes Jess Hartmann, Promax CEO. "This included developing the next planned steps in the products' functionality and several significant technology upgrades." The new appliances will enable Promax reseller partners to offer complete end-to-end Promax solutions meeting a wide array of workflow requirements including transcode, media asset management, rendering, and now enhanced archival for data protection. Working with worldwide resellers and distributors, Pro- max will be offering a special trade-in promotion to existing Cache-A customers. RED GIANT FORGES DISTRIBUTION PARTNERSHIP WITH ADIMEX PORTLAND, OR — Red Giant (www.redgiant.com) has inked a deal with Adimex (www.adimex. com.au) to expand sales and support of Red Giant visual effects products throughout Australia and New Zealand. A distributor of digital media technology and professional video software brands for the region, Adimex has developed extensive industry knowledge along with a vast network of resellers and retailers over its 20 years of operation. "After evaluating various options, it was clear to us that Adimex was the best partner to help serve the needs of our new and existing customers," states Robert Sharp, VP of global sales at Red Giant. "They have invested in their infrastructure and relationships, building domain exper- tise to offer world-class sales and support services that are in line with Red Giant values."
