5 WINTER 2015 / CINEMONTAGE by Alan Heim, ACE Brothers and Sisters, The new Board of Directors was sworn in on January 10 and I feel that this will be a very exiting year for the Editors Guild. Negotiations for a new contract are in early stages and the Guild will attempt to stay on top of the rapidly changing technology. Every worker in our field will be called on to do more and different things, and we will have to stand together to protect our classifications. This means keeping in close touch with the office whenever union rules are threatened, as well as trying hard not to work out of category. We will continue to work with other locals and the IATSE to organize more unscripted television shows and increase our outreach into other forms of entertainment. All members of our organization are welcome to join any of our committees — even if they are not sitting on the Editors Guild Board of Directors. These committees deal with finance, seminars, diversity, outreach, preservation of Guild history, and many other areas. It also would be to everyone's advantage to come out and take part in Guild functions, be they screenings, seminars, membership mixers or special events. I believe you would enjoy them and enjoy meeting new people with common interests. I know I do. I look forward to seeing you at these events. f PRESIDENT'S LET TER New Year, New Challenges The Editors Guild's 2015 Board of Directors.
