IBC products At the IBC show, Cortland, NY's GLYPH (www.glyphtech.com) pre- viewed the GPT50, a new member of its portable drive family. The GPT50 is 33 percent smaller than the com- pany's current GT050Q and features next-generation Oxford bridging technology. GT50 hosts a single 3.5- inch drive and will support 500GB, 1TB, 2TB and 3TB capacities. A 4TB drive is also planned. Glyph hopes to ship the GPT50 in the December/ January timeframe. Sunnyvale, CA's AMD (www.amd. com) unveiled the FirePro SDI-Link at IBC, which helps bring realtime, GPU- accelerated performance to post pipe- lines requiring SDI input and output. The FirePro SDI-Link allows for the design of fully featured SDI- and GPU- based solutions with ultra-low-latency between select AMD pro graphics cards and third-party SDI I/O prod- ucts. AMD also showed the FirePro V7900 SDI, a new graphics card that supports AMD FirePro SDI-Link. It is available this month for $2,499. San Diego's SORENSON (www. sorensonmedia.com) was at IBC with Squeeze Server 1.5, an upgrade to its enterprise transcoding solution. The latest update adds optimized perfor- mance for all three leading adaptive bit-rate streaming platforms: Adobe Dynamic Streaming, Apple HTTP Adaptive Streaming and Microsoft Smooth Streaming. The new release allows users to create multiple rendi- tions and output media to wherever it needs to go. . Grass Valley, CA's AJA (www.aja.com) was at IBC show the next-generation of its Kona LHe video capture and playback solution. The Kona LHe Plus offers greater performance than its predecessor and is priced approxi- mately 25 percent lower ($995). Pro features include 10-bit or 8-bit uncom- pressed video I/O; two-channel AES digital audio and eight-channel SDI embedded digital audio I/O; analog composite, S-Video, SD/HD compo- nent video I/O; two-channel balanced analog audio I/O; and 10-bit quality hardware down-conversion from HD to SD.
