SAGAFTRA.org | Special Issue 2015 | SAG-AFTRA 32 Stunts, like this one from CBS' CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, require well-trained professional stunt performers to be done safely. The 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® is the perfect time to give these unsung heroes and heroines their due. On Jan. 25, stunt performers will be recognized in two categories: Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture and Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series. The ceremony will take place during the red carpet preshow, which starts at 3 p.m. PT and may be viewed online at sagawards.tntdrama.com and people.com. These professionals have to be at the top of their game every day — their lives depend on it. They also depend heavily on each other, both on and off set, which is one of the reasons the SAG Awards recognizes the members of this tight-knit community as a group. SAG-AFTRA President Ken Howard has spent a lot of time around stunt performers — his wife Linda is one. "When stunt performers do amazing work, members of the audience can find themselves discussing a fantastic performance without ever knowing the performer's name," Howard said. "This is a chance to shine the spotlight on those whose important contributions are often overlooked." Watch the preshow Jan. 25, as SAG-AFTRA honors these men and women of remarkable bravery who always make the star look good.
