WINTER 2014 | WEAnews 8 The WEA's region retreats took place during the month of September this year. Topics of discussion and professional development included, among others, Student Learning Objectives, advocacy, and building mapping for membership. WEA members had the chance to network, learn, and decompress after the first few weeks of the school year. The Southeast and Southwest Regions had question-and-answer sessions with both of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction candidates. The Northwest Region took time to invite candidates for state legislative races for question-and-answer sessions as well. The Central/Northeast Region retreat found creative ways to present member benefits with a geocaching event. Attendees took part in the exercise using GPS equipment to "caches," but also take in the beauty of the HF Bar Ranch, outside Buffalo, WY. If you have any ideas for retreat trainings next fall, please contact your local leadership topics, trainings, etc. CAROL JELACO SOUTHWEST REGION UNISERV DIRECTOR CJELACO@WYOEA.ORG DAVID HOLT SOUTHEAST REGION UNISERV DIRECTOR DHOLT@WYOEA.ORG NORTHWEST
