Made from Pinot Noir. 90 Force of Nature 2013 Pinot Gris, Murmur Vineyard, Santa Barbara County ($23) Lush and dry with minerals and racy fruit; dense and balanced with apple fruit and a long, seamless, complex finish; this winery has the most impressive labels I've seen yet. ROB MURRAY VINEYARDS 90 Freemark Abbey 2013 Chardonnay, Napa Valley ($30) Tangy fruit and soft oak; juicy, fresh and long; Ted Edwards has been doing this for a long time and he's got it down pat. JACKSON FAMILY WINES 91 Inconceivable Wine 2013 Chardonnay, Santa Maria Valley ($25)Bright, fresh and juicy with racy acidity and fresh fruit; crisp and lively. MIDDLETON FAMILY WINES 90 Morgan Winery 2012 Cotes du Crow's, Monterey ($18) Smooth and juicy with cherry, cassis and spice; bright, tangy and long. 60% Grenache, 40% Syrah. 91 Edmeades 2012 Zinfandel, Gianoli Vineyard, Mendocino Ridge ($31) Juicy raspberry and cherry fruit; silky and bright with tangy acidity and a long, fresh finish. JACKSON FAMILY WINES 90 Uproot 2013 Grenache, Santa Ynez Valley ($46) Smooth and bright with raspberry and cherry fruit; tangy and dense with notes of earth and spice; long and balanced. 92 Bonny Doon Vineyard 2012 Grenache, Cuvée R "Rancho Solo," Monterey County ($48) Loades of generous black raspberry and cassis; rich, long and vivid with long, balanced finish. 91 KaDieM 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon, Morisoli Vineyard, Rutherford ($125) Bright plum and complex structure; balanced and rich with soft herbs; dense and meaty with diminished intensity due to the vintage. 91 Calera 2013 Chardonnay, Mt. Harlan ($36) Silky and fresh with smooth pear and minerals; elegant and juicy with balance and long flavors.
