(www. attotech.com) an- nounced Mac OS X Yosemite driver sup- port for its Celerity Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters (HBAs), 6Gb/s ExpressSAS SAS/SATA HBAs and RAID Adapt- ers, FastFrame Network Interface Cards (NICs) and Converged Network Adapters (CNAs), as well as Thunderbolt Desklink Devices. With this news, Atto now off ers a full portfolio of adapters that support the latest Apple operating system. Atto worked closely with Apple to provide connectivity to high perfor- mance Fibre Channel and SAS/SATA storage, as well as 10Gb/s Ethernet. Earlier this year, Atto released its newest extension of the Desklink family, Thunderbolt 2, which enabled products with transfer speeds at 20Gb/s for creative professionals who need access to external storage and networks for I/O demanding applications, including 2K, 4K, 3D and ultra high-defi nition video post production workfl ows. Atto also off ers several software-based productivity and performance-en- hancing solutions for the Apple market supporting OS X Yosemite, including Xtend SAN iSCSI Intiatiator software that allows Mac users to rely on Internet SCSI (iSCSI). Atto's Express Power Center software is a disk storage RAID application that allows users to maximize attached storage when using Atto Celerity Fibre Channel HBAs, ExpressSAS/SATA and RAID adapters, and Desklink Devices. WACOM RELEASES FOUR NEW IPAD STYLUSES VANCOUVER, WA — Wacom (www.wacom.com) has introduced four new styluses for the iPad — two new generations of the Bamboo Stylus solo and duo, Bamboo Stylus fi neline, and the second generation of the Intuos Cre- ative Stylus, dubbed Intuos Creative Stylus 2. The new capacitive styluses, Bamboo solo ($19.95) and duo ($29.95), have been upgraded with a new carbon fi ber nib for a smoother stroke and greater precision over the iPad's glass. Bamboo Stylus fi neline ($59.95) is a pressure-sensitive pen (1,024 levels) using Bluetooth 4.0 geared toward creative thinkers who like to take notes and sketch out ideas and concepts on the iPad. It features a thin tip (1.9mm). The Intuos Creative Stylus 2 ($79.95) also uses Bluetooth and features a new thin tip (2.9mm) and 2,048 levels of pressure. All are currently available at select retailers and on the Wacom eStore. SOUTHPAW LAUNCHES FIVE NEW TACTIC APPS TORONTO/LOS ANGELES — Southpaw Technology (www.southpaw tech.com) is now launching all of the apps announced at SIGGRAPH 2014, extending the functionality of its Tactic platform. This includes Tactic VFX, Tac- tic Async, and Tactic Server Assist, as well as a fourth and fi fth product: Tactic Media Library and Tactic Brand Manag- er. Each has specifi c functionality. The new apps include remote collaboration, faster content searches and specifi c UIs. Tactic Media Library is a central, searchable and secure repository for every asset a company creates. Tactic Brand Manager provides marketing teams with a cross-platform solution for managing brand, image and content across campaigns, from any location. Tactic VFX, Tactic Media Library and Tactic Brand Manager will all be avail- able in two options — hosted on the AWS cloud or on premise — and will be accessible on a range of platforms, including Windows, OS X, iOS, Linux, and Android. Tactic aSync and Tactic Server Assist are available on-premise only. FILMLIGHT INTRO'S DAYLIGHT; GIVES BASELIGHT A BOOST LONDON — FilmLight (www.fi lmlight.ltd.uk) recently launched Daylight, designed as a compact yet eff ective grading decision tool to help DPs and directors establish looks and visualize what they have shot, on-set or on-location. Available in early 2015, Daylight encompasses a number of new features, including: AJA SDI output; shot fi ltering and sorting; HTML report generation; Red GPU decoding; media consolidation tools; multi-format de- liverables; and, just like Baselight, support for the latest camera codecs. FilmLight also introduced Baselight 4.4, the latest release behind the com- pany's high-end 4K grading and fi nishing system. Baselight 4.4 now includes Apple-certifi ed ProRes, including support for the ProRes 4444 XQ codec, and a project consolidation feature for managing media, which means users can consolidate all the material used in a list of scenes to one location. Baselight 4.4 also provides faster GPU decoding of Red camera fi les as part of the im- plementation of the Red SDK, as well as provides full support to work in high dynamic range color space using Dolby Vision.
