people JOHN TISSAVARY Postique in Southfield, MI, has added John Tissavary to its DI team.Tissavary will supervise the DI department and serve as a consultant on digital intermediate projects for Grace & Wild Stu- dios. He brings over 25 years of experience in the filmmaking and commercial world to the studio, having worked as a producer, director, colorist and visual effects artist. Most recently,Tissavary was president of Maxsar Post. TISSAVARY MATTHEW ZAJICEK Matthew Zajicek has joined Quantel's North American operation as broadcast product specialist, responsible for presenting the company's integrated broadcast production systems, with particular emphasis on sports, 3D and news apps. He comes to Quantel from NASDAQ OMX, where he was a broadcast technician in their Times Square Studio.There, he was responsible for the daily newscasts for CNBC, Bloomberg and other global financial networks. Zajicek has also worked at MTV Networks, Plum TV and MLB. ZAJICEK DES CAREY Light Iron has named Des CareyVP of post. Carey comes to Light Iron from C03, where he was a senior DI producer/VFX supervisor. He began his career as a film archivist, and subsequently became George Lucas's editorial apprentice. In 1999 he joined Tippett Studio, where he was post supervi- sor/supervising VFX editor. His portfolio includes work on 300,The Conspirator,Terminator: Salvation, Quantum of Solace, Watchmen, Pirates of Caribbean: At World's End and Transformers. the . TYLER MARK TYLER Northern Lights in NYC has added editor/Smoke artist Mark Tyler to its roster. He brings over 20 years of editing experience, and was most recently at NYC production company Red Line Films, where he worked with The NFL Network, L'Occitane, NHL, ESPN, MTV and The Travel Network.Tyler has a energetic and musi- cally-inclined editorial style, which can be seen in spots for Izod, Sony, Miller Genuine Draft, Garnier Fructis, and Tylenol. He's also done editorial and beauty work for music videos. SCOTT MILLAN, GREG RUSSELL Technicolor has hired veteran re-recording sound mixers Scott Millan and Greg Russell. EGAN The team will launch Technicolor's new theatrical mix stages at Paramount Studios, which are set to open in Hollywood after Labor Day. Millan and Russell have amassed a combined 22 Oscar nom- inations over the past three decades, including four wins for Millan (The Bourne Ultimatum, Ray, Gladiator and Apollo 13).The team handled the re- recording on Salt, for which they recently received Oscar nominations. MATTHEW EGAN Director Matthew Egan has joined Film- workers as part of its newly-formed production division, Filmworkers Media Content. Egan has di- rected Web-based projects for national brands such as Target, POM Wonderful, Geico and Chicago-based designer Agga B. He will pursue similar work at the studio and will also team with Filmworkers and its affiliates Vitamin and Giannini Creative to provide packaged creative services for broadcast and interactive. Egan spent the past five years at the Chicago production studio Foundation and prior to that spent two years at Digital Kitchen. He began his career as an editor at Cutters. LEWIS BRAD LEWIS Director Brad Lewis has joined Digital Do- main's Tradition Studios in Port St. Lucie, FL, where he will direct original animated feature films. Lewis co-directed Cars 2 with John Lasseter and is a 10-year Pixar veteran. He produced the Academy Award-winning animated feature Rata- touille. Prior to Pixar, Lewis was a producer on Antz and executive produced TV movies for PDI/DreamWorks, where he worked for more than 11 years. He was also producer/VP of production for PDI. ROSENTHAL ZEN ROSENTHAL Zen Rosenthal has joined the team of editors at General Editorial in Santa Monica. He comes from The Editors in Sydney, Australia, and has contributed to numerous commercial pro- jects, including the Victoria Bitter Beer Foster's Regulars spot, which won Gold at Cannes. Other career highlights include the BBC/ABC documentary How Kevin Bacon Cured Cancer, for which Rosenthal received the Australian Film In- stitute Award for "Best Editing in a Documentary."
