The Tachyon Wormhole solution off ers content producers the abili- ty to shorten or lengthen content by as much as 10 percent of its runtime while preserving video and audio quality, as well as closed caption integrity. VFXNOW BRINGS 'HARDWARE AS A SERVICE' TO BIG APPLE NEW YORK —VFXNOW off ers a unique strategy for post facility development with its "Hardware as a Service" approach. PIXELUTION HELPS SGO GAIN PRESENCE IN PAKISTAN HERTFORDSHIRE, UK — Darkroom Asia in Pakistan recently won a major contract with ARY Films to provide post production and VFX-related services. The deal was a direct result of the studio investing in an SGO Mistika 4K system, which it purchased from UK-based reseller Pixelution (www.pixelution.co.uk). Darkroom Asia is the fi rst facility in Pakistan to feature a Mistika 4K suite, which it is using to support television commercials and feature fi lm projects. "Our decision to make Mistika our fi rst choice was simple," explains Darkroom Asia CEO, Salman Hasan. "The tools and realtime RAW image and other native workfl ows are superior to any other system out there, and we wanted to be the fi rst company in Pakistan to have a fully-equipped Mistika 4K system, which would provide a one-stop solution, in realtime, for our fi lm and commercials industries." Darkroom Asia recently completed its fi rst com- mercial fi lm using the new Mistika system. Main Hoon Shahid Afridi is an action/drama/sports fi lm, produced by Six Sigma Entertainment. The entire post process, including color grading, was com- pleted within Mistika. The feature was shot with Red digital cinema cameras. On Monday, October 13th, CTS Audio (www.ctsau- dio.com) in Brentwood, TN, hosted a Yamaha Nuage demo. The Nuage Advanced Production System is the result of a joint collaboration between Yama- ha and Steinberg, and combines Yamaha's effi cient hardware with Nuendo 6 software. Yamaha Com- mercial Audio Systems' David Lees and Chris Hinson were on-hand to demonstrate the system, answer questions and provide insight into numerous tips and tricks within Nuendo recording software.
