schools and those who work
and learn in them. We speak
up for adequate funding for
our schools and challenge
actions that threaten the
opportunity for all children to
receive a free, quality public
education in Arizona, such as
our successful lawsuit ensur-
ing the Arizona Legislature
fully fund the base level of
education funding. This victory
guaranteed public schools the
increase in annual funding as
directed by Arizona voters in
Proposition 301.

Respect for All
AEA works to achieve fair treatment and profes-
sional respect for all public school employees and
advocates on behalf of members at the bargaining
table and at school board meetings to ensure mem-
bers' rights are protected and working conditions are
fair. When the legislature passed legislation specifi-
cally targeting educators in an effort to silence your
voice, AEA took a stand and defeated this measure in
court.
