people BELL JASON BELL Globex Studios, an LA-based online game de- veloper, has hired Jason Bell as executive VP of products, a newly-created role. He will head pro- duction, development and pipeline planning, and will oversee North American and European pub- lishing and licensing initiatives. Bell most recently managed the Asheron’s Call online role-playing game series as executive VP at Turbine Entertain- ment. Prior to that, he held top-level offices with Atari, Infogrames and Origin Systems.Globex is currently readying its first portfolio of titles, which includes Secret Kingdoms Online. MARIANNE O’REILLY Vancouver Film School (VFS) has appointed Marianne O’Reilly the head of its animation & visual effects department. She brings more than 20 years of experience in the entertainment in- dustry, having worked in both creative positions and upper management. O’Reilly started her ca- reer at Rainmaker as a VFX producer, which culmi- nated in her promotion to president of the VFX division in 2007. She then played an instrumental role in the sale of the company’s Vancouver and London facilities to Deluxe and the CIS Visual Ef- fects Group in 2008. O’REILLY RAOUL BOLOGNINI Zoic Studios has promoted Raoul Bolognini to executive producer, feature films. He was previ- ously a senior VFX producer for features. Bolognini’s tenure at Zoic includes producing vi- sual effects for Priest,Takers, Devil, Armored, Grown Ups, Fast and Furious 4 and Death At A Funeral, among others. His career began as an assistant di- rector for the BBC, working on television dramas and miniseries. He later moved to LA to join Zoic as part of the VFX team for FireFly and Drive. BOLOGNINI KELLY SLATTERY Film producer Kelly Slattery recently joined West LA’s Therapy Studios as executive pro- ducer of their new feature film division. Slattery began her career writing songs and placing them in various feature films and studio programs. She has gone on to produce films such as Down for Life, starring Danny Glover and Snoop Dogg; Cougar’s Inc, starring Denise Richards, James Belushi and Kathryn Morris; and House of the Rising Sun, set for released in late 2011. She’s currently working on Keep Coming Back, Sex Ed and Dead Man’s Gold. MARINELLI ANTHONY MARINELLI ShootersNYC, the satellite office of Philadel- phia post house Shooters, has added editor An- thony Marinelli to its roster. Marinelli began his editing career 17 years ago as an in-house edi- tor at agency DDB Needham. He later worked at Steel Rose Editorial, Crew Cuts and Cut + Run before joining Red Car in 2008. His work includes editorial for clients such as Aleve, NY Lottery, At- lantis Resorts and CIGNA. He has also stretched beyond spot work, cutting the 2008 doc with Ali- cia Keys titled Alicia in Africa for her Keep a Child Alive charity. Marinelli is based in New York, but is available through the Philadelphia studio. P.R. BROWN LA’s Bully Pictures has signed director P.R. Brown for exclusive representation in commer- cials. Brown is a director, graphic designer and photographer whose work spans broadcast, inter- active and print media. He has worked on more than 150 music videos, including projects for Paul Simon, John Mayer, Alicia Keys, Seal, Prince, Marilyn Manson and Mötley Crüe. In his debut with Bully Pictures, Brown directed a broadcast and Web campaign for Harley Davidson launching its 2011 Blackline motorcycle and Black Label apparel. MICHAEL MCQUHAE Executive producer Michael McQuhae has joined Believe Media. He will be based out of the international production company’s LA office. Swedish born McQuhae has lived in Lebanon,Tai- wan,Yugoslavia, Portugal and Sardinia, before set- tling down in London to complete his formal edu- cation. He later ended up in LA. He has worked with brands such as Levis, Ray Ban, Axe, Absolut and Old Navy, among others. DARRIN ISONO Strategic branding agency Bird in Hollywood has hired Darrin Isono to head up its new, full-ser- vice motion graphics department. Isono was most recently senior designer at Zoic Studios, and brings expertise in working with both corporate and entertainment industry clients.
