X.mio3 LP is a low-profile, half-length PCIe card that offers up to eight reconfigu- rable I/Os, from SD to 4K. Multi-channel hardware processing accelerates compute- intensive operations, including motion-adaptive de-interlacing, up/down/cross scaling and mixing/compositing for all resolutions. When configured with inputs, the card is equipped with built-in frame synchronizers to generate clean SDI signals for any environment. Matrox X.mio3 LP is well suited for OEMs who need to create advanced yet compact chan- nel-in-a-box systems, video servers, broadcast graphics systems, encoders, transcoders, multi- viewers, switchers and other digital media equipment. Development tools in the Matrox DSX SDKs for Windows or Linux include versatile file reading/writing, memory management, streaming synchronization, and a large selection of software codecs and effects. A prototyping tool provides a graphical representation of all hardware components so developers can simulate and test their use cases before writing a single line of code. Optitrack introduces new mocap cameras C ORVALLIS, OR — OptiTrack (www.opti track.com) had added new models to its line of motion capture and tracking cameras. The Prime 13 and Prime 13W were introduced at the Game Developers Conference in March. The Prime 13 is well-suited for medium-sized motion tracking applications that require a blend of per- formance and affordability. It offers a 40-foot tracking range, 1.3 megapixel resolution, and 240fps capture rate. The Prime 13W is an ultra- wide FOV variant, specifically tuned for detailed tracking of smaller spaces, such as CAVEs, powerwalls, HMD environments, gait labs, and other compact installations. Both models measure less than three inches in size and offer a scalable Ethernet interface, fully infrared (IR) illumination, synchronized ref- erence video mode with 3D overlay, an on-cam- era status indicator and Aim Assist technology for single-user setup. Pricing is $1,999 for the Prime 13 and $2,299 for the Prime 13W. Opti- Track also offers the Prime 41 and Prime 17W. Tracktion 5 better uses resources S EATTLE — TSC's (www.tracktion.com) Tracktion Version 5 is an update to the low-cost recording application. The software operates on Mac, PC and Linux systems, and is designed for users who want to quickly capture and manipulate musical ideas. The software is priced at $59.99 ($29.99 for upgrades) and has added a number of new features. No longer do users have to cre- ate sub-mixes in order to free-up resources for additional tracks. The Edit Clip format allows users to embed multi-track material as if it were a single audio clip, while allowing the source material to be edited. This greatly improves the use of system resources. T5 also introduces a System Resource Manager and Freeze Point technology that gives the user precise control over which session elements should be automatically pre-rendered, so that they can reduce CPU load while retaining mixing/editing flexibility. The result is low latency playback regardless of session size. T5's MIDI capabilities have also been enhanced. Users can cre- ate beats with popular plug-ins thanks to the Step Sequencer Clip, which can be viewed and edited right in the timeline, like any other clip. The piano-roll editor has also been overhauled to include new features such as "per-note automation" and "rapid MIDI learn" for easy integration with hardware controllers. Additional features include ARA integration for Celemony Software's Melodyne, rapid audio comping, and track presets. Matrox intros low-profile, multi-channel SDI card
