T H E I M P L E M E N T A T I O N O F the Com- mon Core State Standards (CCSS) offers significant opportunities to i m p r o ve p u b l i c e d u c a t i o n . S o m e educators are concerned that they are not receiving the tools and resources necessary to get implementation of the standards right. Many school districts have been slow to provide resources to support implementation of Common Core, if at all. NEA and BetterLesson have teamed up to bring together more than 130 outstanding teachers from a c ro s s t h e c o u n t r y, i n c l u d i n g f ive CTA members, to share user-friendly and classroom-ready lessons around the CCSS. The new website, cc.betterlesson.com, features creative math and English lan- guage arts teachers for grades 9-11, who share not only their lesson plans, but also their reflections about what worked and didn't work for them in developing the Common Core lessons, along with tips and tricks for success- fully implementing the CCSS. The site offers more than 3,000 comprehensive lessons, and plans to have more than 16,000 free Com- mon Core aligned lessons by 2015, including narratives, videos, personal refl ections and classroom resources.
