AEA Advocate x Summer 2014 37 RESOURCES Free & Inexpensive kids VoTing: emPowering YouTh To Become AcTiVe ciTizens – free TrAining for elemenTArY/middle/ high school TeAchers It's never too late or too early to instill a passion for voting with your students. GET THEM INVOLVED!!! Prepare your students to be knowledgeable, active citizens and guide them through the voting process. Register today for this FREE training from the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education. You will receive lesson plans and materials that will enable students to have a real life voting experience that mirrors the adult process. Experienced Kids Voting teachers will demonstrate how to successfully implement lesson plans that not only encourage youth to vote but also align to the Arizona College and Career Ready Standards. Research shows that physical activity improves self-esteem, school performance and overall well-being. These projects, previously funded by the Kids In Need Foundation, make creative use of common teaching aids, approach curriculum from an imaginative angle, or tie nontraditional concepts together for the purpose of illustrating commonalities.
