SPRING 2014 | wyoea.org SPRING 2014 | WEAnews 25 Meet Your 2014 WEA Election Candidates I am a leader who has the knowledge, contact, and support of members to work with educational leaders in Wyoming and the nation, a leader who will organize members from the grassroots level to make a difference, a leader who has a knowledge of the budget to use dues dollars effectively. Please vote for me to make WEA powerful again! I am running for WEA Vice President because I am committed to the mission, values, and goals of the Association. I want to continue with what I started as the WEA Treasurer - open, honest, and frank discussions about how to move our Association forward and become stronger. I also believe that we need to be the leader in the education community. Craig Williams - East Laramie County EA Jon VanOverbeke - Cheyenne Teachers EA As the current ESP Representative to the WEA Board, I would like to keep representing this important constituency and make sure our voice continues to be heard. We are a vital part of the WEA team and need to have a strong presence. I will provide that presence and would appreciate your vote for ESP Rep. to the WEA Board. Carole Palmer - Specialists in EA Lollie Lebario - Sweetwater EA State Delegate to NEA RA I have been an active member for 7 years. I am co-chair of the of CTEA/ WEA Government Relations Committee, a member of the Southeast Region Organizing Team and have participated in Delegate Assembly and NEA Representative Assembly. I am excited about the opportunity to continue to serve our association members and I ask for your vote. Kimberly Amen - Cheyenne Teachers EA A few years ago I had the opportunity to attend the RA and it was life changing. I had so many experiences that have enriched my classroom and my work for the association. I came back refreshed, refueled, and renewed to do the great work that we all do everyday with our students and our profession. If you give me the opportunity to serve once again, I promise to pay it back in full through my association work. Noelle Clark - Natrona County EA I would like to use my experience as past president of CTEA, a building rep. for over ten years, a member of the Southeast Region Organizing Team and the NEA's Resolutions Committee to continue my work as an advocate for teachers and education as your representative for the Southeast Region. I would appreciate your vote. Barry McCann - Cheyenne Teachers EA Carole Palmer - Specialists In EA Having attended DA for 13 years and been to RA several times I would again like to attend RA as a state delegate. With my years as S&O Chair, I have gained a new perspective on the enormous responsibility placed on delegates to steer NEA in the direction members choose. Please vote Carole Palmer for state delegate to RA. Doreen McGlade - Natrona County EA I am committed to supporting and advancing public education by advocating for education professionals and the students we serve. At the NEA RA, I will represent you by sharing our experiences and perspectives with NEA leaders and colleagues. I will also return with useful information from the experiences and perspectives of our leaders and colleagues. I would appreciate your vote! Julie Tucker - Specialists In EA I've had the pleasure of attending several Representative Assemblies in the past. The camaraderie of the attendees and the feeling of accomplishment in doing the work of the RA is infectious, drawing you in to become a part of it. Please consider me when you vote for the state RA delegate positions. Craig Willaims - East Laramie County EA See Statement on the previous page. Paulette Hahn - Natrona County EA Heather Kreiling - Goshen EA Central Region Representative Northeast Region President I have served my local, WEA, and NEA in many capacities. As a local member I have served as a building representative, the vice president, and as an executive board member at large. I am on the Board of Directors for WEA, and more recently have been involved on the national level with my NEA Foundation award and my attendance at RA two years ago. Noelle Clark - Natrona County EA Serving as your region president for the past few years has been an honor. I will continue to work hard to represent the Northeast Region as well as WEA with all diligence. Jennifer Black - Sheridan Central EA Southeast Region President Southeast Region Vice President As a WEA member for the past eight years and MACR chair for the past three years, I am most concerned with bringing dignity to the workplace. As Vice President I will promote the association positively and publicly so that teachers are treated with dignity and respect by all members of the community. Jenefer Pasqua - Cheyenne Teachers EA Southeast Region Representative Kimberly Amen - Cheyenne Teachers EA Barry McCann - Cheyenne Teachers EA See statement above. See statement above. Julie Tucker - Specialists In EA After spending these last 2 years as the Southeast Region Representative, I decided to run for SER President. I have quite a bit of experience on the WEA Board of Directors and also as a local president, so I would like to keep serving the regions members in this new position. I'd very much appreciate your support by voting for me. Spring 2014 working.indd 25 3/14/14 4:32 PM
