Movers & Shakers Revise Those Resolutions With New Year's resolutions starting to lose steam as winter rolls along, you'll want to remember why you made goals to start the New Year in the first place. Whether it was to get a promotion, find a new job or create a work/life balance, sometimes you have to reestablish your goals (and stick to them) with a few simple steps: • Set realistic, achievable goals—excitement can skew the initial timeline or viability of your original goals. Instead of focusing on the final outcome, try breaking it down into small, achievable steps and celebrate each success. Remember . . . Rome wasn't built in a day and your career won't be either! • Wake up 15 minutes earlier than you usually would to create a list of objectives for the day. You may find that it will keep you on track and help your prioritize throughout the day. • Shut down! When you leave work, be sure to really take a break. Try not to check email while at home. You can't be in full-force 24 hours a day—recoup at night to start an even more productive tomorrow. CAREER CORNER
