6 Post • February 2014 www.postmagazine.com Splice offers color services via Cinelicious L OS ANGELES — Splice and Cinelicious are col- laborating to offer Cinelicious Remote, a real- time remote color service at Splice that makes use of Cinelicious' talent. Splice (www.splice.tv) is a Minneapolis, MN-based studio that designs and creates engaging entertainment solutions. Their work includes feature films, broadcast television, commercials, experi- ential design, and retail networks. Cinelicious (http:// cinelicious.tv) is a creative studio with locations in Hol- lywood and Santa Monica. They offer a 4K pipeline with 4K film scanning technology, as well as a 4K DI theater that allows for realtime 4K color grading, review and mastering. "This launch is a first step in building strong new relationships — here and on the coasts," notes Splice co-founder/editor Clayton Condit. "This collaboration is a great opportunity to expand our capabilities and capacity, and continue to elevate our respective brands in the eyes of clients." Cinesite commits to Montreal M ONTREAL — Québec Premier Pau- line Marois recently visited visual effects house Cinesite for the official announcement that the studio is opening up in Montréal. The London studio is greatly expanding its capacity and interna- tional presence with the announcement. The first project to be completed at the new location will be the Guy Ritchie/War- ner Bros. film The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Cinesite's new facility at 250 St-Antoine West cover 26,000 square feet and has capacity for 250 artists. The facility will operate under a unified pipeline between London and Montréal, with connectivity provided by Sohonet. Several films that Cinesite has worked on are releasing in 2014, including 300: Rise of an Empire, Robocop, Edge of Tomorrow, Into The Storm, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit and The Monuments Men. Hudson Edit debuts audio suite D ETROIT — Creative editorial and post studio Hudson Edit (www.hudsonedit.com) has opened a new audio mixing and recording suite. The room will be operated by Spencer Hall, who recently joined the facility as senior audio mixer/sound designer. A native Midwesterner, Hall joins Hudson from Ron Rose Milagro Post. He's adept at mixing both short-form work and long-form entertainment projects. Hall has handling re- recording and mixing for commercials, theatrical features and DVD and Blu-ray releases. In addition to being a Foley artist, he is skilled as editing, ADR, sound design and 5.1 mixing. Hudson Edit's audio room also serves as the base for the company's new affiliation with The Lodge (www.thelodgemusic.com), the New York- and Los Angeles-based original music and sound design house. The studio is partnering with Hudson Edit to offer additional services to its agency clients. SonicPool Post Production (www.sonicpool. com) has released the Guerrilla ADR app for iOS devices. The app is designed for use when talent is unable to get to a recording studio and allows users to record ADR lines right on their iPhone. Talent can download the free app, put on a pair of headphones and record their lines in sync with picture. They can preview a video clip along with a text description of the line below it. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad devices, and can be found at the App Store. Bits & Pieces
