Member Clark Gregg (Ironman, [500] Days of Summer), John Heard (Home Alone, Entourage), RJ Mitte (Breaking Bad), Bobby Naderi (Te Tacqwacores), Vik Sahay (Chuck) and Rupak Ginn (Royal Pains) were among attendees at the Screen Actors Guild, SAGIndie and AFI FEST 2010 presented by Audi Breakthrough Filmmakers Party on November 9 at the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. More than 600 actors, filmmakers, new media producers and industry leaders celebrated the cast and crew of the new films Hamill, I Will Follow, Removal, Win/Win and Te Weather Station. SAG National Executive Director David White, SAGIndie National Director Darrien Michele Gipson and National Board Member Gregg, who is also the Hollywood Division co-chair of the National SAGIndie Committee, recognized the efforts of the films in the AFI FEST breakthrough section. “SAG is working hard to make it as easy as possible for producers to hire our members and SAG, SAGIndie Support Indie Films at AFI FEST S AG members such as Oscar-winner Halle Berry, SAG National Board produce under our contracts. Our low budget agreements give filmmakers the opportunity to cast professional actors in unique and original work, and our members love the freedom of independent films,” said White. “Our goal is to help independent producers do what they do best: make magnificent movies with professional actors.” Guests included SAG National Board members Mike Hodge, Joe d’Angerio, Abby Dylan (also National SAGIndie committee chair), Morgan Fairchild, Dawnn Lewis and William Mapother, as well as Hollywood Division Board mem- bers William Charlton, Ellen Crawford, Bertila Damas and Stacey Travis, and New York Board member Marc Baron.
