KEVIN WINTER/GETTY IMAGES legacies Despite the award's transformation and the dramatic changes to the entertainment industry over more than five decades, the award continues to recognize those who hew to the highest standards: honorees who have shown a dedication to their craft, to their fellow performers and to their fellow human beings. The award is administered and voted on by the members of the SAG-AFTRA National Honors and Tributes Committee and is presented during the SAG Awards telecast. The HAT Committee is chaired by Jenny O'Hara and vice chaired by Don Ahles and Kevin Scullin. In keeping with the spirit of this rare honor, they carefully consider those who have demonstrated "outstanding achievement in fostering the finest ideals of the acting profession." Through the years, the Life Achievement Award has been presented to some of the most enduring names in showbiz: Gregory Peck, Burt Lancaster, Robert Redford, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn and James Earl Jones. Each of the legendary performers, past and present, chosen to receive this award represents some of the best and brightest SAG-AFTRA has to offer. They will be long remembered for their work, both onscreen and off. SAGAFTRA.org | Special Issue 2014 | SAG-AFTRA 58
