RED 5 STUDIOS (www.red5studios.net) in San Francisco has licensed NaturalMotion’s Morpheme for use on its debut videogame title Fire- fall, which is due for release near the end of 2011. Firefall is a team- based action shooter that thrusts hundreds of players together into a lush world. Mark Kern, founder/CEO of Red 5 Studios, says the com- pany is creating a futuristic and fantastical world, but believability still re- mains a priority. A Student Award will recognize outstand- ing achievement in visual effects on any project that was created by a student or group of students while attending an accredited school.
