EVENT WRAP-UP Tour de Force T THE TASTING PANEL’s Marketing and Events Director Allison Levine (left) with the San Francisco Competitions’ Managing Director Chandler Moore in Seattle, final city for the trade tastings. THE TASTING PANEL’S 4TH ANNUAL TOUR VISITS A RECORD 13 CITIES Judges Tim Teichgraeber, Anthony Dias Blue and Jerry Cooper at the San Francisco stop. HE TASTING PANEL com- pleted its 4th Annual Tour with a selection of Double Gold–winning wines from the 2010 San Francisco International Wine Competition and Double Gold win- ning spirits from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Visiting a record 13 cities, the tour kicked off with the 4th Annual Beaver Creek Wine and Spirits Festival in Colorado, featuring guest chefs and mixologists and a selection of Double Gold wines and spirits. We then headed out to 12 cities (Minneapolis, Kansas City, Chicago, San Francisco, Orange County, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Washington D.C., Phoenix, Las Vegas and Seattle) where we hosted trade tastings. Members of the trade and media were able to taste an eclectic mix of wines and spirits in an informal walk- around format. We thank the judges from the San Francisco International Wine and San Francisco World Spirits Competitions for joining us in their home cities. Thank you to the venues where we hosted the events. Thank you to Waiwera water and Riedel glassware for the various cities they sponsored. And, above all, we congratulate and thank the Double Gold wines and spirits that joined us on tour! (Be sure to enter your wines and spirits in the 2011 competitions!) For those of you who joined us along the tour, thank you as well! We look forward to visiting your cities again next year for the 5th Annual Double Gold Tour. —Allison Levine Waiwera was our water sponsor for this year’s tour. 80 / the tasting panel / november 2010 Neil McNally from Rosenthal, the Malibu Estate shows off his Double Gold Surfrider Red at the Orange County stop. www.sfwinecomp.com www.sfspiritscomp.com PHOTOS: ALLISON LEVINE
