BY PATRICE A. KELLY NEWS NOTES Women With A Purpose Ministries is sponsoring its fourth winter cruise out of San Juan, Puerto Rico on February 20-27, 2011. The cruise will include events for spiritual reflection, Morning Prayer and two seminars. Much more than just a cruise, attendees will enjoy fellowship, relaxation, different cuisines, exercise and fitness sessions, beaches and more. The itinerary includes departure from San Juan, Puerto Rico then on to St. Thomas, Dominica, Bridgetown, Barbados St. Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis and St. Maarten, retuning to San Juan. WORDS & DEEDS “A Night of Inspiration,” a musical event, was held at Carnegie Hall in the Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage on Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Soledad O’Brien and Pastor A. R. Bernard hosted the uplifting concert of inspirational music and spoken word. Musical appear- ances were made by Pastor Shirley Caesar, Kurt Carr, Sheila E. , Patty Griffin, Fred Hammond, Michael McDonald, Phylicia Rashad, Richard Smallwood, Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Pauletta Pearson Washington, BeBe Winans & CeCe Winans, with musical director Ray Chew. The event was presented by Carnegie Hall in Partnership with Chew Entertainment. Sponsors included Christian Cultural Center, New York Marriott Marquis and Continental Airlines. Gospel USA Magazine held it’s Second Annual Bahamas Retreat 2010 on Father’s Day Weekend June 18- 20, 2010 at the Our Lucaya Reef Village resort located in Freeport, Grand Bahama. The weekend included a round- trip cruise to Freeport, a meet-and-greet party on Friday night, a gospel artist seminar Saturday morning, the International Gospel Showcase on Saturday night, live shows and Sunday worship service at a local church. Attendees also enjoyed the 4-star resort’s amenities including daily water sports activities, a Spa and fitness center and optional excursions – such as shopping, dining, scuba diving, jet skiing, golf and fishing. Also, musical group or artist attendees received a free, live introduction on a local radio station, a showcase slot & vendor oppor- tunity at Gospel USA’s Saturday night International Gospel concert, and a visit to a local Gospel retail store. The 4th Annual Potter’s Clay International Women’s Retreat – When Women Worship was held June 18-19, 2010 at the Marriott Hotel in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey. Special guest preacher was recording artist and author Pastor Sheryl Brady of the River Church in Durham North Carolina, and special guest worship leader was Pastor William Murphy of the Dream Center Church in Atlanta Georgia. My Joy Christian Family Ministries (CFM) hosts the Potter’s Clay International Women’s Retreat. My Joy CFM is a Christian organization dedicated to strengthen- ing and serving families by: providing Christian Counseling, specializing in marriage counseling; provid- ing Biblical instruction and positive interaction with other Christian families through workshops, seminars, retreats, and fellowships; serving as a resource center of Christian instructional books, tapes, counselors and instructors and encouraging families to positively impact their sphere of influence by role modeling and disciple- ship.
