BITS & PIECES ATOMOS ACQUIRES FLANDERS SCIENTIFIC MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA — Atomos (www.atomos.com) has acquired Flanders Scientific (www.flandersscientific.com), which specializes in profes- sional reference monitoring. This strategic move reinforces Atomos' commit- ment to precision monitoring across the production pipeline, from on-camera capture through to final color grading and delivery. Atomos already has a broad monitoring portfolio that spans multiple stages of production. This includes on-camera monitoring with the Shinobi range and the Ninja family of monitor-recorders; on-set monitoring with the Sumo range; and rack-mounted solutions for broadcast and corporate workflows with the Shogun AV line. The previously announced Studio Pro line will complement Atomos' growing reference monitoring capabilities later this year. With the addition of Flanders Scientific, Atomos now spans the full spectrum of monitoring, from on-camera, on-set and live production, through to post production and final delivery. By bringing Flanders Scientific into the Atomos group, the company combines expertise in color science and reference display technology with Atomos' global reach, product innovation and connected eco- system. The acquisition positions Atomos to deliver a more complete and inte- grated monitoring solution for filmmakers, broadcasters and content creators. Beyond expanding the product portfolio, the acquisition of FSI enables Atomos to immediately support the highest tier of the professional monitoring market. Flanders Scientific monitors are widely approved and relied upon by post houses, broadcasters and major content studios. Achieving this level of qualification and adoption takes years of product development, testing and industry validation. Through this acquisition, Atomos has added a portfolio of products and technology that are already trusted and validated at the highest levels of the industry. Flanders Scientific will continue to operate as a distinct brand within the Atomos family. There will be no change to its product philosophy, engineering approach or the high standards. At the same time, the acquisition strengthens Atomos' global support and distribution capabilities. With expanded infrastruc- ture and regional presence, Atomos will be able to better serve customers in markets that have historically been more difficult to reach.
