MONITORS www.postmagazine.com 28 POST MAY/JUNE 2026 FLANDERS SCIENTIFIC MAKES REFINEMENTS WITH XMP C SERIES ALPHARETTA, GA — Flanders Scientific (https://flandersscientific.com) offers a range of monitoring solutions for production and post in its XMP C Series, all of which are slightly shorter and lighter than their respective XMP predecessors. According to Flanders Scientific CEO Bram Desmet, the "compact" C Series was refined via feedback from facilities that said they didn't need a front-fac- ing keypad, or physical controls in general. In addition, many were not using the processed monitor outputs that are standard on the XMP line. Space and weight constraints were another big factor, and simpler rectangular display bezels would make the monitors easier to tile tightly together. While more compact, the XMP C Series still features the QD-OLED perfor- mance of the XMP lineup. The XMP270C is a 26.5-inch QD-OLED HDR master- ing monitor capable of 1,000-nits. The XMP310C is a 31.5-inch QD-OLED HDR reference monitor that also offers 1,000-nits of brightness. The largest model in the series is the XMP550C, a 55-inch QD-OLED HDR mastering monitor capable of 2000-nits. The C Series makes use of a simplified rear-mounted, five-way controller that replaces the traditional front-facing keypad. Processed monitor outputs have been removed, but clean loop-throughs remain. And integrated speakers have been removed, but an audio output jack is provided. ATOMOS ADDS FEATURES TO SUMO MONITOR/RECORDER MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA — Atomos (www.atomos.com) introduced the Sumo Pro-19 at NAB Show in April. The new 19-inch 4K HDR monitor/recorder/ switcher is purpose-built for cinematic on-set production and video village environments. The new model builds upon the popular Sumo 19SE, but adds camera control and network C2C connectivity. Sumo Prp-19 delivers precise, color-accurate monitoring and control for confident creative decision-making. The Sumo Pro-19 supports recording in Apple ProRes, ProRes raw, Avid DNx and H.265 codecs from SDI or HDMI sources, with up to 10-bit, 4:2:2 quality, and supports high-resolution raw workflows up to 8K. Media can be recorded internally to high-speed CFexpress cards or externally to USB-C storage. Built-in monitoring tools include EL Zone false color, focus peaking, waveform, Log-to-LUT viewing, frame guides, safe areas, anamorphic de- squeeze, HDR-to-Rec.709 conversion and quad-view monitoring. Sumo Pro-19 also offers touchscreen control over key camera param- eters, including start/stop, ISO, shutter, aperture and white balance. The ability to control cameras remotely is valuable in situations where the camera itself is difficult to access during shooting. Professional audio inte- gration includes two full-size XLR inputs with 48V phantom power, along with dedicated meters, gain control and frame-accurate audio delay for seamless audio-video sync. Pricing is $2,899. LG DEBUTS NEXT-GEN OLED PRO MONITOR LINCOLNSHIRE, IL — LG Electronics (www.LGSolutions.com) recently debuted its next-generation 65-inch LG UltraFine OLED Pro display. The 65EP5Q is a purpose-built professional monitor designed to meet the demands of broad- cast, virtual production and high-end AV environments. At the core of the 65EP5Q is LG's latest G5 OLED panel technology, which delivers higher peak and full-screen brightness than its predecessor. This translates into improved HDR performance and greater visibility in real-world environments where ambient light, studio lighting and LED volume spill can impact viewing conditions. The display supports 4K UHD (3,840x2,160) resolution and OLED's inherent pixel-level contrast control, delivering deep blacks and precise highlight detail that's critical for evaluating content.
