CAMERAS & LENSES www.postmagazine.com 26 POST MAY/JUNE 2026 CANON DEBUTS NEW FULL-FRAME EOS CAMERA & POWER ZOOM LENS MELVILLE, NY — Canon USA, Inc. (www.usa.canon.com), has introduced the new, full-frame EOS R6 V camera, which is designed for both handheld and gimbal shots, featuring robust in-body IS, as well as a 7K/32.5MP full-frame CMOS sensor. The new EOS R6 V can capture 7K/60p raw, 7K/30p open gate, and support slow and fast modes. Its 32.5MP full-frame CMOS sensor is capable of capturing 4K at up to 60p and uncropped 4K/120p to deliver high-quality slow motion. Advanced AF tracking is optimized for video shooting, with smooth autofocus performance and in-body image stabilization for handheld shooting. Its compact, flat body design supports vertical shooting thanks to a dedicated vertical tripod mount, along with an integrated zoom lever and tally lamp. An internal cooling fan helps extended shooting times. Priced at $2,499, the EOS R6 V will ship at the end of June. Canon also introduced the new RF20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ zoom lens. The full-frame compatible L-Series, RF-mount lens is Canon's first L-series lens to feature built-in power zoom without the need for additional accessories. With a versatile 20mm to 50mm focal range, it provides ultra-wide angle views and zooms through to a standard field of view. Constant f/4 aperture across the zoom range helps maintain consistent image brightness while zooming from the expansive view of the 20mm wide setting to the detailed 50mm telephoto setting. The lens will be available in June and will cost $1,399. Canon is offering an EOS R6 V & RF20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ package for $3,699. RED'S V-RAPTOR XE MAKES NAB DEBUT FOOTHILL RANCH, CA — At NAB in April, Red Digital Cinema (red.com) showed off the latest addition to its Z Cinema line — the V-Raptor XE. The V-Raptor XE delivers large-format, cinema-grade performance at a price point of $14,995. The camera is built on Red's V-Raptor [X] architecture and intro- duces a streamlined design that provides the essential features for storytelling with new system-level efficiencies enhanced by V.2.2 firmware. The result is a compact, accessible camera that brings Red's signature cinematic fidelity and dynamic range to a wider range of productions. The XE offers versatile capture options with frame rates up to 60fps in 8K VV, 80fps in 6K S35, 120fps in 4K, and 240fps in 2K. Improvements include gains in boot speed and sensor power performance. The XE offers 17 stops of dynamic range, low-light capabilities, RF or Nikon Z mount options and a compact body that weighs just over four pounds. Red also showed off the full potential of raw imaging at the interactive R3D NE workflow station, where attendees could see the flexibility of raw footage managed by the high perfor- mance and secure Pro Data by Iodyne. Attendees could explore the benefits of Red's IPP2 color pipeline, from color management to editing in leading NLEs. The demo highlighted how R3D and raw workflows unlock maxi- mum dynamic range, flexibil- ity and creative control.
