Coleen Topper Academy. The Academy provides academic and behavioral inter- vention services for students with moderate to severe disabilities, including a music therapy program. " The grant has benefitted all our students at ELITE," Topper says. "Music provides a pathway to speech, and calms students who have anxiety and behav- ioral issues. The data shows more engagement in the students' Individualized Education Plans. We have just begun to see the benefits of the music therapy program." The California Casualty Music and Arts Grant program was established to provide support for K–12 public schools nega- tively impacted by reduced budgets.
