BevForce Hot Shot Each month we check in with one BevForce Mover & Shaker to provide you with some behind-the-scenes insight on the job search process, the beverage industry's most innovative companies and the executives who drive them. This month, we chatted with Michael Sachs, who was recently named Global Director of Marketing at Icelandic Glacial. He was previously President and Co-Founder of Code Blue Recovery Drink. Prior to that, he worked for Bacardi USA as a Marketing Manager for Grey Goose Vodka.  TP: How would you define Icelandic Glacial's culture and what attracted you to it? MS: Icelandic Glacial is bottled directly from the Ölfus Spring in Iceland. I was attracted to Iceland's beauty, strength and purity, which is captured in every bottle of Icelandic Glacial water. The heritage of Iceland is embedded in the company culture through the owners, Jon and Kristjan Olafsson who are strong Icelanders themselves. TP: What advice would you give to job seekers looking for their next role? MS: Be patient. Look for jobs with brands and companies that you believe in and can truly embrace. Make sure you do your best in your current role so that you can become a valuable asset for the next company that hires you. TP: If you weren't sipping Icelandic Glacial, you would be drinking . . . MS: I would be drinking a Grey Goose and club soda. I am very passionate about the brands I've worked with and I couldn't see myself drinking any other vodka brand. 14  /  the tasting panel  /  august 2013 TP0813_001-33.indd 14 7/24/13 9:46 PM
