Hundreds of millions of consumers, leading Fortune 500 businesses, and cutting-edge scientific research facilities around the world rely on AMD technology daily to improve how they live, work, and play. AMD employees are focused on building great products that push the boundaries of what is possible. CGW connected with top product specialists at AMD to learn more about their innovative products and how they are revolutionizing visual effects and game development workflows across the globe. CGW: Tell us about the AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO proces- sor and Radeon PRO products. What sets the combination of Threadripper PRO processors and Radeon PRO graphics apart from other solutions on the market? AMD: Because AMD has a uniquely long history manufacturing both CPUs and GPUs alike, our product teams can work together and engage with "A+A" product testing that is more robust and complete than competitive vendors that may only offer one or the other. Significant benefits that our customers have gained from this ongoing collaboration is increased responses from both the CPU and GPU when multi-tasking. The end result is a smoother workflow when working across multiple applications that may oen be exchanging datasets or graphics files between multiple, active sessions of different soware(s). We see this across the entire product portfolios and regardless of the industry vertical. CGW: How are top visual effects studios utilizing the power of Threadripper PRO processors? AMD: While there are many movie and TV productions currently underway that we can't reveal, recently Blur Studio deployed the exceptional processing power of AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO processors to create more complex scenes and character designs. Blur Studio told us Ryzen Threadripper PRO delivered with fast renderings and more iterations that enabled their team to efficient- ly test and tweak their designs to achieve greater levels of creativity and deliver a visually stunning movie. CGW: How are major game studios and independent devel- opers using Threadripper PRO processors to improve their development workflows? AMD: AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO processors help game de- velopers manage the increasing complexity of their projects while providing additional support for iterations to be more creative. For example, The Coalition, developer for the Gears of War series, turned to Ryzen Threadripper PRO for their workstation use when compiling code and testing their games. The result was faster compile times versus previous solutions and allowed them to make more changes as the game development progressed. Epic Games' Unreal Engine, the leading game development engine for PC, con- sole, and mobile devices, also saw dramatic performance increases and enhanced productivity. CGW: Where is AMD headed in the future? AMD: AMD is always looking for new ways to improve customer performance. In addition to faster processing for rendering video or compiling code for games, AMD processors and graphics can help accelerate next-generation applications, ranging from 3D content creation beyond games and movies, to cloud gaming and interactiv- ity within Metaverse environments. ¢ AMD: Pushing the Boundaries of Possibility
