IMPORTS A Legacy of Passion CUVELIER LOS ANDES CARRIES ON AN IMPRESSIVE FRENCH LINEAGE IN ARGENTINA by Rich Manning / photos by Leigh Castelli T he Cuvelier family's involvement with the French wine scene dates back to 1804. They have owned Château Léoville Poyferré and Château Le Crock for about a century, and their Bordeaux wines have enjoyed plenty of reverent acclaim spanning several decades. So it may sound a bit odd to hear a member of the Cuvelier clan refer to himself a new kid on the block. Yet this sentiment is one that is firmly espoused by Baptiste Cuvelier when he discusses Cuvelier Los Andes, a collection of wines from the family vineyards in Argentina's Mendoza region that have generated recognition worthy of the prestigious surname. Co-owner Baptiste Cuvelier serves as Export Manager for Cuvelier Los Andes. 112  /  the tasting panel  /  july 2013 TP0713_100-148.indd 112 6/24/13 6:03 PM
