PRODUCTS www.postmagazine.com 32 POST MAY/JUNE 2021 BORIS FX OFFERING SILHOUETTE ROTO/PAINT TOOL AS MULTI-HOST PLUG-IN BOSTON — Boris FX (borisfx.com) is now offering its Silhouette paint, ro- toscoping and compositing tools as a node-based plug-in for Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, Foundry's Nuke, Blackmagic Design's Fusion and Resolve, Autodesk's Flame, and Vegas Pro. The new 2021 release fol- lows Silhouette's recent acceptance as a participating product in the Netflix Production Technology Alliance. As a multi-host plug-in, all Silhouette features are now available, where as the previous Silhouette Paint plug-in was limited to paint-only functions. Artists now have access to the entire node-based workflow for roto, paint, tracking, warping, keying and compositing in their host application. The new lens correc- tion node can calibrate and correct lens distortion for advanced effects tasks or to generate and export an ST Map for other host applications. The lens cor- rection node is built on shared technology from Mocha Pro's lens module. New roto editing tools based on artist feature requests make Silhouette's rotoscop- ing capabilities stronger than before. Boris FX is offering a number of price plans for Silhouette. An annual sub- scription for the plug-in can be had for $395/year, while an annual subscription for the standalone application and plug-in is $695/year. Single licenses and monthly subscriptions are also available. LUXEA EDITING SOFTWARE AVAILABLE FOR FREE VICTORIA, BC — ACD Systems International (www.acdsee.com) recently released the latest version of its free Luxea Video Editor, which provides users with more tools designed to produce high-qual- ity video. The latest release of Luxea comes a year after the original release and gives users more control to produce video the way they imagine it. Some of the new features include timeline markers that allow users to align tracks more easily thanks to a built-in, snap-to-setpoint func- tion. Editors can now color grade their shots by loading and apply- ing any number of cinematic LUTs. The level of effect can easily be controlled through an opacity slider. The recorder now encodes as it captures video and audio so users can go from recording to editing instantly. Single input recording allows users to capture audio without video and vice versa, with the option to record from only one input at a time. Targeted screen recording lets users select a window to record with a single mouse click. Luxea is available for free, or with a perpetual license for $79.99 Subscriptions can also be had for $29.99, providing users with regular updates and upgrades. ACD Systems has also included Luxea in its Home Pack bundle, which in- cludes photo studio and video converter tools. TELESTREAM ADDS TO PRISM WAVEFORM MONITOR LINE NEVADA CITY, CA — Telestream (www.telestream.net) has introduced six new models in its Prism waveform monitor product line. The new models have smaller form-factors to address space constraints and a more affordable entry price point. With these new products, the Prism family now offers a complete range of 'software defined' monitoring instruments covering use cases from operational SDI monitoring to engineering grade IP analysis, with a common user interface through- out. The new products are designed to support both local and remote production situations up to 8K HDR. As software-defined instruments, customers can purchase a base model and add features as and when required. According to Telestream's Charlie Dunn, the new members of the Prism family may differ in size, but offer the same features, including a touch-screen interface. Telestream is offering the new waveform monitors in two form factors — single (MPS-100, 200, 300) and dual screen (MPD-100, 200, 300). Each model is also being offered in any of three configurations: SDI only, SDI and IP, and SDI, IP and physical layer. The new models are more space conscious, at only five-inches deep, yet with no compromis- es in capability (4K/8K HDR/Wide Color Gamut, four inputs, Dolby Audio, 10/25G-IP and 12G-SDI). In addition to offering re- mote capabilities, the new models offer a broad set of HDR tools, including STOP waveform, user-de- fined False Color, Light Meter and CIE charts.
