people MICHELLE CUCCUINI HICKS Production company East + Pleasant in NYC has added Emmy Award-winning executive producer Michelle Cuccuini Hicks to its team. Most recently at Cause & Effect as head of production, she has worked on over 650 productions around the world, including on spots for Gatorade, Apple, Gap, Michelob, McDonald's, Nike, BMW, Converse, Pfizer, Time Warner Cable, Verizon, Dr. Pepper, Nick Jr. and Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign. HICKS MITCHELL FERRIER PAUL MITCHELL The Mill LA has expanded its Mill+ design team with the addition of creative director Paul Mitchell, who was creative director at Prologue Films and responsible for design projects that included work on film and spots, including campaigns for Ford, DuPont, ESPN, and FIFA World Cup. Prior to this, he was lead design director for the BBC's graphics division in London. Mitchell's arrival at The Mill reunites him with EP Stephen Venning, who was also previously a BBC Graphics employee. Mitchell graduated from the Newham College of Art & Design in London. CHRISTOPHE FERRIER, DOMINIQUE FIORE uMedia, based in Brussels, has named Christophe Ferrier as its new VFX director and has hired former Double Negative staffer Dominique Fiore as VFX supervisor.The more comes as the company opens its new Paris operation as part of its expansion into the VFX market. Previously VFX supervisor at EuropaCorp, Ferrier has more than 16 years experience in visual effects. An expert in 2D and 3D formats, he has worked for a number of companies, including Buf, Mac Guff, where he was CGI supervisor/project manager, Escape Studio, which he founded and co-owned, and Digital-District, as well as Duran Duboi. His credits include the McG-directed Three Days to Kill, David Marconi's Intersections, Xavier Palud's Blind Man, and Richard E Grant's Wah Wah. Fiore's credits at Double Negative include Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Angels and Demons and Hellboy II: The Golden Army. accounts in the USA. Based in NYC, Cerquone is responsible for Quantel's sales to the four major television networks and other large accounts. Cerquone joins Quantel from Harris, where he was regional sales manager covering accounts in New York and New England. Prior to this, Cerquone held senior positions with Miranda Technologies, Sony Electronics and Avid. Kiely returns to LA, having spent the last 10 years leading the design team at Viewpoint Creative in Boston, where he supervised brand makeovers for HBO and HGTV, as well as consumer brands such as Staples, Lowe's and Timberland. He began his career in the music industry, working with Neil Diamond, Dwight Yoakam, The Grammy Awards and Warner Music. He later transitioned into advertising, and while based in Chicago, worked with several agencies, including DDB. TOM WRIGHT Ntropic has added Tom Wright as managing director, North America. He will help Ntropic founder Nate Robinson guide the company across its Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco offices. Wright, previously SVP, director of integrated production at Twofifteenmccann, led production on last year's Help Remedies campaign, the Halo4 launch and the Xbox Kinect Effect campaign. Wright's experience also includes executive roles working with brands such as Jeep, Ray-Ban, Sprint, HP, Ford and Coca-Cola. PAULUS BANNINK Culver City/Vancouver-based visual effects house Zoic Studios has added to its game division with the addition of Dutch game industry veteran Paulus Bannink as creative and technical director. Bannink comes to Zoic from Sony Computer Enter tainment and Guerrilla Games, where he worked on the Killzone game series since its inception in 2004.
