This female CEO, who is used to buying love, meets her match in an independent young executive. The film was made at Warners' Burbank studios, with exterior shots of Drake's house filmed at Frank Lloyd Wright's Ennis House in the Hollywood Hills. Jack Okey was the Art Director. His other works include It's a Wonderful Life ('46), Out of the Past ('47), 42nd Street ('33) and Dawn Patrol ('30). He was nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Art Direction for the films Sally ('29) and Experiment Perilous ('44). Okey was from Los Angeles and learned art from his uncle, the California artist, J. Bond Francisco. While Jack was in his early twenties, he spent several years in Paris studying art. While in Paris, he met a pianist from Indiana, whom he married upon returning to the States. Returning to LA, Jack became involved with the growing film industry and his career took off. In the mid-130s, he spent several years working in England, but later returned to Hollywood. He spent the remainder of his active career working for RO Studios and retired in 1. A B A.
