Abraham Marder, Darius's
brother and co-screenwriter of
the film, is a great musician. He
composed a song for the opening
of the film which was played live
on set by the actors. There will
be no doubt to the viewer that
the sound is diegetic. Darius
knew that the brutal naturalism
of the first sequence would give
capital credibility to the two main
characters.
