W
hen Sharynn McGee's father was dying in the hospital, he
told her mother he was worried about his daughter.
"He wished I would lose weight — he was worried about me," she
remembers.
Six months after her father died, her doctor diagnosed her with high
blood pressure and put her on medication. McGhee, 55, left the
doctor's office that day, sat in her car and called a good friend to get
the directions to the Weight Watchers office.
"I didn't hesitate about it," she said. "I didn't like how I was feeling,
and when the doctor said 'high blood pressure,' that really scared
me straight."
