her "J" on her right top shoulder. During her sequence of events, she undergoes a lot of dirt, bruising, skinned abrasions, scratches, road rash, and much more. I brought Miho Suzuki in as my key make-up artist to help balance two of our female superheroes, played by Rosie Perez and Jurnee Smollett-Bell. Rosie plays an uptight cop named Renee Montoya in the film and we decided to keep her more on the natural side of make-up. Jurnee plays this beautiful singer named Dinah Lance/Black Canary. Her make-up was designed per outfit. Sometimes bold lounge style and sometimes more smokey for her street looks. They also wanted a tattoo on her that peaked out on her upper right back shoulder. I had Alexei Dmitriew, who is one of our Local 706 make-up artists, design this canary bird for her back. His company HookUp Tattoos also fabricated the tattoos. The Huntress character, played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, was a challenging design. They wanted her to have a "mask" look created with make-up rather than actually using a mask. Through testing, we found a look they liked and used for most of the film. Her look later changes throughout the film and her mask look becomes bolder. The Huntress character was started by Sabrina Wilson and as the females started coinciding, I brought in Cale Thomas to take over and carry her throughout the remainder of the film. I myself joined in to do the Huntress' younger look. Our male villains of Gotham were played by Ewan McGregor and Chris Messina. Ewan plays a very metro, high-end rich money mogul and Chris plays his slimy sidekick. We kept Ewan very slick looking and well put together until RENEE MONTOYA & BLACK CANARY BY MIHO SUZUKI Renee Montoya/Rosie Perez Montoya had one look throughout. Montoya is a female detective that Department Head Make- up Deborah Lamia Denaver wanted to keep her look as minimal and natural. So I focused on skincare and base foundation. Face was using Chantecallie foundation, bronzer and blush. I also used Temptu Perfect Canvas as finishing products and touch-up throughout the day, so it won't build up too much powder. Eyes were neutral brown tone using Becca brown eyeshadow palette and kept matte overall, but she wore black liner in waterline of the eyes when she is at work as the detective in order to give her intensity look in the eyes. Also, Dark Swan individual lashes was a great touch as well. Lips are neutral, Hourglass Girl lip Stylo crayon in Dreamer. Black Canary/Jurnee Smollett-Bell She had four different looks: 1) Black Mask singer look, 2) the look when she was leaving the black mask next morning when she saves Harley Quinn, 3) lock 'n' load that is the hero fight look, and 4) last look when she saves the girls from smugglers. I also bronzed her body using Temptu Dura foundation with ERA aero brush bronzer as highlighter. She also had a canary tattoo in the right back shoulder. Tattoo transfer was made by Alexei Dmitriew of HookUp Tattoos. 1) Black Smokey eyes using with Sisley Paris phyto-eye crayon in #8 and Stila gold Glitter and Glow liquid eyeshadows. Bronzed bell in the middle of eyelids with heavily inlined with MAC shoulder eye kohl. Lips are hazelnut tea lipliner from Laura Mercier and Dose of Colors brûlée lipstick. 2) Natural tone eye make-up using RMS Bruti cream color. Chanel les 4 ombré 352 as her signature contour and Chanel le rouge crayon de couleur mat in 289/black currant. 3) Her hero look was all neutral but the signature products on her eye make-up was Laura Mercier Caviar stick in Amethyst on lids and bottom of the eyes, Chanel les 4 ombré 352 on crease, MAC pruned eye kohl blended away and lastly, Stila Shimmer and Glow liquid eyeshadow in Jezebel on the top lids. Lips were the same as before, Dose of color in Brûlée with hazelnut tea lip liner from Laura Mercier. Jurnee really loves this color, so she mostly wore this combination as Black Canary's hero lip color. 4) For her last look, she wore the eyes as neutral but bold lip color in Chanel le rouge crayon de couleur mat in 289/black currant. Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez)
