I was struck at how the whole thing seemed unreal, like a science fiction story from an old Atlas Comics story or an episode of The Outer Limits. I drew this story as an homage to those '50s/'60s sci- fi series, as well as a way to lighten up the dark mood permeating the quarantine lifestyle that we've had to adapt to. It was also a way to practice using the newest Clip Studio Paint software that I recently purchased. If I'm going to be cooped up at home, I figured I may as well make it educational for when we do get on the other side of this. I had an interest in drawing early on. As youngsters, my twin brother Anson and I drew comics and made our own Super films. At , I had already started to get freelance illustration locally. I then went to The Academy of Art/USF in San Francisco and in , after art school, started working at Industrial Light agic IL where I became a isual Effects Art Director. I stayed at IL for years, providing art and design for commercials, attractions and feature films, including Ghostbusters 2, The Mask, Star Wars Episode I: The Phanton Menace, Men in Black 1 2. In , I directed an award-winning short horror film titled The Collector. On Sept. , , I relocated to Los Angeles, and joined Local , with my first union show being Terminator 3. Since then I have worked as a storyboard artist or concept illustrator on such high-profile films as Wonder Woman, Logan and Venom. I most recently worked on Bloodshot and Mulan. In my spare time, I've created my own self- published comics; as well as having worked on comics for independent publishers, including Secret Identities: The Asian American Superhero Anthology, Komikwerks: Chills & Thrills, The Adventures of Unemployed Man and Bela Lugosi's Tales from the Grave #3. I have also done work for Marvel Comics contributing comic art on both the Agents of Atlas and the She-Hulk series.
