As the last decade came to a close, which must now seem like another life altogether to many of us, a Local 706 make-up craft meeting was held at Local 80 on December 8, with more than 80 members in attendance. Gabriela Hernandez brought back Besame Cosmetics, her beautiful vintage-styled beauty brand. Merle Norman, a revitalized classic cosmetic name, was presented by Lauren Kahn, and they gifted each member with a generous bag containing the full line of products! Zena Schystel returned to showcase the popular Z Palette, which can be cus- tomized for artist and productions. Make Up Designory showcased their brow creams and brought special guest and immeasurably talented make-up artist Stephen Dimmick to demonstrate. Follow him @dailydimmick for looks and more, and rest assured we will have him back! Moiz Balkhi returned with his popular Pacific Instruments line of kit essential tools. New participant spon- sors were on hand as well. Mood Editing Cosmetics discussed cruelty-free cosmetics produced in China and Jenny Rosenbluth of BrushWorks presented the versatile and stylish Brush Easel, B Y B R I A N K I N N E Y J O U R N E Y M A N M A K E U P A R T I S T M A K E U P C R A F T P R E S I D E N T perfect for organized station setups. One of our own members, Amy Lederman, presented a breakdown of how to contact and work with brands to get sponsorship and support on shows. Elections were held for Make-up Craft President and Make-up Craft Secretary for the 2020-2021 term. Brian Kinney (myself) will continue on as Make-up Craft President and Michelle Chung will serve as Make-up Craft Secretary. We look forward to facing the challenges ahead to bring exciting programs as soon as pos- sible. Thank you to Claire Doyle for her hard work and dedication this last term as a Make-up Craft Secretary. As this goes to press, the industry is stopped and the world is facing an unprecedented crisis. As a union, we'll stay strong and get through this together while apart. Michelle Chung, myself, and collaborators are putting programs in the works to stay informed and focused on our craft. Look for "virtual" make-up craft pre- sentations ahead, and keep your spirits up!
