LOVE PASADENA MORE REASON #365: PASADENA IS FILM-READY 3 DAY TURNAROUND • OVER 1,000 LOCATIONS • WITHIN "THE ZONE" photo: Jaime Pham "The Leadership Location" event in Vancouver. L-R: LMGI members Amy Barager, Aine Furey, Georgette Turner, Ann Goobie and Stevie Nelson services are requested. Ontario Creates (the Ontario Film Commission) promotes filming in Ontario with a database of close to 400,0000 images of film-friendly locations. Ontario Creates sends out images packages when producers require that service and when required and available, I help with some packages and that "keeps my finger in the pie," so to speak. To succeed in this profession, you have to love people, be creative and communicate well—a good listener is a plus, able to multitask and be good at logistics. Meeting new people each day from all walks of life is so educational and I found a niche that gave me a career that I loved and afforded me personal travels to many counties, always with architecture in mind and locations in my thoughts. I sincerely thank all those who took a chance on me, allowing me to learn and gain experience as without those folks, who know where I would be today. To me, you are only as good as your team and I had the marvelous pleasure of working with people who I could trust, understand and give their all to make me look good. Mumsie or Auntie Aine were nicknames I was given by some crew which I considered terms of endearment or maybe not? We had the first reunion of The Littlest Hobo a couple of years ago and more than 40 people attended. It was mentioned that the producers are hoping to bring The Littlest Hobo back with a new series of contemporary episodes. Fingers crossed. That was such a great evening and seeing all those faces again, made us all realize just how fortunate we all are/were to be/been in this industry. A lot of us spent 15 years or more together as a crew on different series. So it all started with my phone call to hear "how many movies did you wrap" and I said "none" and the rest is history. Producer Adam Haight recently asked me if I would take him to Hamilton, Ontario, to scout as they were writing a new show and wanted to see period locations. I knew the area well and we got in my car and then started laughing saying, "Who would have thought that 37 years later, we would be together again, scouting?" Photo by Matt Palmer/LMGI
