Bradley, our host at Pinewood
before splitting off into two
packed workshops.
Fantasia commented,
"Most attendees were Guild
members, but we will also
have a few more location
managers and business
partners sign up as a result
of this outreach. The team
from Pinewood was great and
they were very happy with the
day and anticipate continued
partnership in the future."
Registrants chose between
"Scouting: Finding the Gem"
and "Prepping: Must Have
Essentials." Each workshop
was led by a panel of
seasoned LMGI location pros.
The scouting class was led by
Ryan Schaetzle, Trace Taylor,
Dan Gorman and Erin Fuller.
The prepping class was led
by Matt Chamberlain, Kyle
Hinshaw, Samantha Idelsen
and Andrea Keaner. After the
panels, everyone regrouped
in Sound Stage A for the
"Roundtable: Learning from
the Experts." Moderated
by Mike Fantasia and Mac
Gordon, a wide range of
topics were discussed,
including ethics, best practices,
education and support for
locals within their union.
A buffet lunch provided
by Hanna Bros. Catering/
Pinewood followed, culminated
in tours of the facility. Vendors
set up booths to meet and greet
members next to the lunch
area. Of course, there were
door prizes from our excellent,
reliable vendors and the LMGI
as well. There was a lot of
networking and laughter too.
Board member Ryan Schaetzle
enthused, "Our members really
enjoyed the idea of forums/
panels/instruction. We have
barely scratched the surface.
People seem to want more. We
are trying to engage members
to volunteer in support of
our educational and social
endeavors." The Guild looks
toward a busy and prosperous
2020 in the Atlanta region, and
internationally, as well.
