Ohio-Pittsburgh VOICEOVER WORKSHOP ON LOCATION IN HONOLULU V eteran voiceover actors Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Platt taught a packed class in Honolulu on July 26. The conservatory course had a limited number of available spots so that the duo could provide ample time for all participants to perform coached reads and to permit time for a Q&A. Lowenthal and Platt, who have more than 25 combined years of experience and are the authors of Voice-Over Voice Actor, colorfully brought to life their start in the industry through real-life stories. The union actors who attended the fun evening left with a deeper understanding about what it takes to become a working voice actor. Hawaii IT'S ALL IN THE GAME T he Chicago Local's newly formed NextGen Performers Committee has hit the ground running by introducing Game Night. During Game Night, SAG-AFTRA members come together to socialize and educate one another on the comings and goings of our union while playing various games. So far, the group has played Cards Against Humanity and Jackbox Games. Co-Chairs Angela Morris and Khloe Janel and their fellow committee members have more events planned, including a film showcase for student filmmakers at local colleges and universities. The committee hopes that this support for young filmmakers will create a bond with the next generation of professional actors.
