For Members From left, John Carter Brown and Belva Davis THE LAMBS, SAG-AFTRA FOUNDATION TEAM UP T he Lambs theatrical and social club is one of the new naming-rights sponsors of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation's New York Computer Lab program and facility. The two organizations participated in an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 17 to designate the facility as The Lambs Computer Lab of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. Located at 1900 Broadway, the lab offers the latest in video and audio editing programs, writing software and more to SAG-AFTRA performing artists at no cost — allowing union artists to create, edit and submit reels, demos and résumés to projects. SAG-AFTRA New York Local Board member Marc Baron, who has been serving as the "Shepherd" of The Lambs and president of its foundation for seven years, said, "Thanks to the generous bequest of Lamb Scott Glascock, The Lambs Foundation will continue its mission for many years to come. We are particularly pleased to commit to long-term support of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation in recognition of the support its computer lab provides members." The Lambs is America's oldest theatrical organization, founded by Charles and Mary Lamb in 1874. Many of the people who founded Screen Actors Guild and Actors' Equity Association were members of the club. In 2014, then-SAG-AFTRA President Ken Howard was honored by The Lambs with an honorary lifetime membership. EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK E xecutive Vice President Rebecca Damon is among the leaders on July 10, as New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo holds up newly signed legislation that expands the state's equal pay laws, stating it prohibits "unequal pay on the basis of a protected class for all substantially similar work." The signing took place as the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team celebrated its World Cup win in lower Manhattan. Damon was among the advocates pushing for the historic law, which forbids employers from asking prospective employees about their salary history. After the celebration, Cuomo tweeted, "I just signed new pay equity legislation at the #USWNTParade. The women's soccer team plays the same game that the men's soccer players play — only better. If anything, the men should get paid less. Thank you @USWNT for helping lead this movement for change!" SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris has also supported the USWNT's ongoing fight for equal pay with their male colleagues.
