The 3D film, directed by Sam Raimi, and was shot natively using Red Epics on an Element Technica Atom rig. VFX supervisor Scott Stokdyk, who won an Oscar for his work on Spider-Man 2, spoke with Post about creating the tiny CG China Girl (Joey King) and Finley, the film's flying monkey (Zach Braff), who are pictured on our cover. The studio's workflow is built around Autodesk Maya, but they call on a variety of other tools.
