ING Unsung Heroes
Are you an educator with a class project that
is short on funding but long on potential? Do
you know a teacher looking for grant dollars?
ING Unsung Heroes® could help you turn great
ideas into reality for students. For more than 15
years, and with nearly $3.8 million in awarded
grants, ING Unsung Heroes has proven to be
an A+ program with educators. The program's
"alumni" have inspired success in the classroom
and impacted countless numbers of students.
Each year, 100 educators are selected to receive
$2,000 to help fund their innovative class projects. Three of those are chosen to receive the
top awards of an additional $5,000, $10,000
and $25,000.
All K-12 education professionals, whether
or not they are clients of ING, are eligible. Specifically, these individuals must be:
Employed by an accredited K-12 public or
private school located in the United States;
Full-time educators, teachers, principals, paraprofessionals, or classified staff with effective
projects that improve student learning. Awards
are granted without regard to race, color, creed,

2013 Summer Agricultural
Institute (SAI)
SAI is a 5-day program put on by The
University of Arizona Cooperative Extension for
educators to tour a region of the state to visit
agriculture industries. Tours include a state-ofthe-art dairy, a progressive nursery, a working
cattle ranch, a top agriculture research facility,
fruit/vegetable/field crop farms, and school
agriculture facilities. Participants receive free
classroom materials that are aligned to Arizona's
Academic Standards.
This year, SAI will be held June 10-14, and
participants will travel to the Willcox area (and
visit places in between there and the Phoenix
area).
Those who apply before March 1 lock in an
$85 early registration fee. After March 1, the
registration fee becomes $125. Applicants will
be notified by May 10 if they are selected by
our review committee. Once notified of being
accepted, then your registration fee will be due
