50 The Costume Designer Winter 2019 ABC Studios 545 Circle Seven Dr. Glendale, CA 91201 818-553-4800 abcsftp.com/costumes Having been in the same location for 20 years, many people may still know this company as the Disney Costume Department, but they've been the ABC Studios Costume Department for over a de- cade. Known for their high-end, quality wardrobe, they have a great Gold Room, with mostly contemporary inventory and hard-to-find Walkabout Costumes. In recent years, they've acquired stock from shows like Scandal, Once Upon a Time, Ugly Betty, and Revenge. The clean, organized facility and knowledgeable staff makes for prompt, reliable service. CBS Television City 7800 Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90036 Rental Department: 323-575-2666 cbstelevisioncity.com/services With decades of stock built up from television programs ranging from soap operas like The Young and the Restless to the Late Late Show, the inventory of CBS Television City is replete with very high-end '80s and '90s glam from Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy, and Versace to name a few. Everything is tagged, sized and priced, and the workroom is ready to do alterations. They also have an amazing Civil War era collection. Recently, they switched to LED lighting, which eliminates shoulder fade and shows the clothes off in the truest light. 20th Century Fox Studios 10201 West Pico Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90064 310-369-1897 foxstudios.com/costumes In 1999, after 30 years of accumulating inventory, the 20th Century Fox costume department moved into the 99 Crafts Building on the Fox lot, and have continued to add to the collection. They have an extensive stock of contemporary and such storied costumes as those worn in Titanic. In recent years, the inventory of fantasy/sci-fi cos- tumes has grown dramatically. A new, state-of-the-art barcode/RFID- automated inventory system lets the staff wand whole racks rather than each piece individually—a real necessity when dealing with over a million pieces on six miles of pipes throughout the facility.
