How would I describe Betty Pecha Madden?
She's energetic, unassuming, beautiful, gen-
uine, funny, practical, thoughtful, decisive,
courageous, solitary, and has an alluring
smile. She's a Costume Designer, labor
activist, family member, and my friend.
At the time Betty and I became acquaint-
ed, she was in the process of transition-
ing from Costume Designer to full-time
labor activist. I do not remember exactly
how we met or when, but it was prob-
ably through a CDG meeting of some kind.
Throughout the years, Betty invited me
to participate with her at different labor
